Speaking of LGBT, it hasn’t been long that LGBT become a popular subject in Myanmar whereas in The United States of America, there are communities and organizations that supported LGBT since late 1980 according to records on Wikipedia.

In these days, people think of a gay as a man who falls in love with someone of the same sex. However, when you have a deeper look about it you will see that it associated with culture, identity, original character and gene. There are people who support LGBT people who stick to their own sexual orientation and also people who criticize about it.

So the life of LGBT people in 21^st century might be harder and more suffocating than ordinary people. Hence, this time Thiloyarmay would like to talk about mental concepts that people in LGBT community should keep in life.

• It mightn’t be your own choice

There are common saying among gay people. It is that “We don’t wish to be like this, we want to be straight like others.” Of course, you might not be the one with a serious determination in falling in love with someone of your same sex but since you are born with it, it is quite impossible to change. Hence, you shouldn’t be depressed from the criticism of other people and punished yourself for that.

• You need to be brave to accept your orientation first

When you are confused about your sexual orientation, feeling for the same sex and the difference you have from others and feel depressed about it or lose your faith then it would be a dream to hope other people of accepting you. In that case, first you need to know who you are and accept it just the way it is.

• There isn’t any reason to hide it

There are common jokes among young people like, “See he is dating as a cover for his true sexual orientation as a gay?  Or a girl saying, “Oh, I have been a fag hag”. It might be or might not be true but the meaning behind is the same. They are talking about the people who want to hide about their sexual orientation. As a human being, it is impossible to be free from being judged or criticized. Hence, there is no need to be pretentious.  It is better just to be yourself when you are curtained to be criticized. It would be more respectable to come out and be who you are.

• Remember you are not alone

The good thing about 21^st century is that now we have smart phones and internet and we can know what is going on around the world timely. So there is no need for homosexuals to feel depressed or grumble about their sexual orientation. In every country, there are counseling places, communities and supporter concerning LHBTQ. In that case, you don’t need to try too hard to fit into community that unwelcome you. We would like to advise you to spend your time with people who love you for who you really are and support you no matter what.

Last but not the least, we would like to request to those who are against homosexuals not to discriminate or criticize them badly. For homosexuals, Thiloyarmay wish you all have a happy and smooth life by keeping in mind above mentioned 4 factors.
